What is Beyond Antigone?
Beyond Antigone explores the tension between law and morality, much like the ancient Greek tragedy where Antigone defies the state’s law to bury her brother, questioning what is truly just. This space dives into criminology, law, and philosophy, challenging easy answers and offering deep analysis. We ask complex questions like: Is the law always right? What does it mean to punish?
At the heart of this exploration is the interplay between power and society. Just as Antigone’s defiance of the law challenges the structures of power, we aim to question how those in power shape and impose societal norms. From the media machinery to political implications, we’ll look at how power dynamics influence the law and how justice is administered.
Our focus is on critical criminology, alternative theories, and the ethical dilemmas in criminal justice, moving away from sensationalism. We aim to explore crime narratives thoughtfully, offering historical and cultural insights into how justice has evolved. Beyond Antigone doesn’t offer simple answers; instead, we invite debate, reflection, and the search for deeper understanding.
Justice and crime, like Antigone’s fate, have no clear answers. Here, we go beyond the official narrative and encourage you to reflect, question, and join the conversation.
